We believe academic conferences create an opportunity to trigger and flourish collaborative and constructive deliberation. It is in light of this knowledge that we provide grants specifically for attending and presenting at local, national, and international conferences.
The development of new ideas and the refinement of existing ideas often take place in an environment where groups and individuals can share and discuss their visions. We believe academic conferences create an opportunity to trigger and flourish collaborative and constructive deliberation. It is in light of this knowledge that we provide grants specifically in support of attending and presenting at local, national, and international conferences.
In order to be eligible, a student must be enrolled as a degree-seeking student, and must present his/her work at the conference. Please note that it is highly unlikely that all costs will be covered; accordingly, you are strongly encouraged to seek other sources of support.
The Hamed Mirzaei Foundation Advisory Board will review all HMF Grant applications and identify applicants who subscribe to the Vision and Mission of the foundation. The Advisory Board recommendation will then be reviewed by Hamed Mirzaei (or an appointed director), who will make the final decision on granting HMF Grants.
When submitting your application, make certain the subject line includes the following: HMF Grant Application, Applicant’s or Nominee’s name, school name, conference name and date (example: HMF Grant Application, Joe Smith, USF, Gordon Research Conference: DNA Damage, Mutation & Cancer – 3/25/2012). Failure to comply to formatting requirements may result in disqualification. We will consider all requests, but grants will be subject to availability of funds.
Students will only be eligible for a Grant once per year.
