Women make up 52% of the population, and yet for the last 5 years, hold only 20% of all technology positions in the work force. In order to create technologies that serve the society as a whole, we need more women in technology. Heather leads the Java Community standardization efforts at Oracle, and is a leader of the global community driven adoption and user group programs. She drives the efforts to transform the JCP program and broaden participation and diversity in the community. Heather will bring humor, insight and lessons learned to this interesting conversation about the fascinating history of Java and what it can teach us as we create the future.
